Kausar Riaz Ahmed

Director, Generative AI Medical Engagement Lead Pfizer

Dr. Kausar Riaz Ahmed is the Director, Generative AI (GenAI) Medical Engagement Lead at Pfizer, Inc. In this role, she leads the GenAI platform strategy, internal and external strategic partnerships and collaborations, and works to build cross-industry thought leadership on key issues impacting the science of GenAI. Dr. Riaz Ahmed joined Pfizer as a Director/Group Lead in Pfizer R&D, where she provided operational and strategic oversight for multiple clinical studies. Prior to joining Pfizer, Kausar spent over nine years at FDA where she led regulatory review of over 150 new product submissions, developed computational tools to inform health risk assessments, negotiated numerous strategic partnerships, and co-chaired the FDA-wide Modeling and Simulation Working Group. She has also worked with digital health startups as a board member and advisor. She has extensive experience in digital health, artificial intelligence, data analytics, oncology, strategic partnerships, and regulatory affairs. Dr. Riaz Ahmed received her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Master’s in Biotechnology from the University of Utah, and Bachelor’s in Industrial Biotechnology from Anna University, India. She received her MBA from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
