Paul Aasmundstad is a veteran data leader who has shaped governance strategy, frameworks, and implementation at a global scale. In his current role as Director of Data Governance at Ryan Specialty, Paul is responsible for defining data governance strategy and framework; leveraging the framework to include compatible model and AI governance; and partnering with the senior and executive leaders necessary to support enterprise-wide adoption. Paul’s career has scaled from a data-focused entrepreneurial beginning into a series of data leadership positions in corporate and consultancy settings. He has worked with top-tier firms across insurance, banking, financial services, manufacturing, and transportation industries. Paul is adept combining technology and process with organizational insight, collaborative working methods, and communication skills to deliver best in class results. His unique perspective combines a blend of initiative, vision, and commitment to drive efficient and effective high-quality data and analytics. He received his BA from the University of Iowa; MS Data Analytics and MBA Business Intelligence from Southern New Hampshire University; and has continuously learned throughout his career.
