Former Corporate Vice President, Global Head of Data Science & Growth Analytics (Cloud + AI) Microsoft

Harris lead the Microsoft Cloud Data Science and Growth Analytics Team (MCDS), responsible for delivering powerful, mission-critical internal and client-facing capabilities thru the application of data science solutions. The MCDS team leverages a full suite of Data and AI capabilities to deliver, Experimentation, Advanced Analytics Business Insights, and in-production Data Science as a Service (DSaaS) solutions productional-zing and productizing MSFT proprietary models supporting internal and external customers, third party app developers, product engineering teams, and all MSFT partners. Harris is laser focused on identifying opportunities to continuously improve adoption of Microsoft’s cross-cloud products and services. His teams’ remit includes scaling, innovating, sunsetting and operationalizing mission critical insights, enabling commerce, while simultaneously defining and launching net new AI capabilities to provide highly reliable, low-latency, cross-product insights that light up the end-to-end customer journey and commerce experiences. Harris accomplishes this forming strategic partnerships across Microsoft with Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Service, Support, Finance, and Product Engineering teams delivering measurable impact and business value. Examples of newly launched products delivered under Harris’ Leadership include improving Cloud customer conversion rates for the SMB direct businesses, targeted customer, partner, and sales rep native in app recommendations, data vision, strategy, architecture, and roadmap to enable C+E’ vision for Extensible Engineering assets and insights, leveraging the MCDS DataLakeHouse insights infrastructure coupled with a few most notable achievements directly led by Harris which include launching the end-to-end Insights Data Infrastructure that powers the entire Business Applications Group (BAG) operations, reimagined and launched 70+ net new partner insights capabilities helping our partners run their business and deliver seamless end-customer experiences via the externally facing partner portal, enabled Phase 1 of Accelerated Sales Methodology and Insights providing unique targeted recommendations specific to MSFT Sellers, led the design, build, and launch of a net-new consumption metric in partnership to enable the CFO closing the gap envisioning the need to measure non- Azure product consumption attributable to Cloud, coined in release 1 as the “eXtensible Non-Azure Consumed Product Revenue aka (XCR), closing the gap to its current equivalent publicly known cloud consumption metric tied to review known as Azure Consumed Microsoft Corporation is an equal opportunity employer. Lastly, Harris and his team were instrumental in leading the core design to help improve our Fraud Detection, by launching the first fraud data product branded as the “Microsoft Cloud Customer Risk Reputation Score” focused on eliminating service interruptions for our customers and leveraged at every customer touchpoint. Harris also serves as the Commerce & Ecosystems executive sponsor representing our LGBTQ and Blacks at Microsoft ERG’s respectively. 

Harris brings 27 years of industry experience, recently joining from VMware where he reported to the CFO as the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO). Harris is an energetic and thought-provoking leader who brings a deep set of strategic and tactical approaches combined from his business and technical experiences in management consulting for highly competitive multinational Fortune 50/100 and Global 500 corporations. Harris’ passion for innovation contributed operationalizing two (2) revenue generating Machine Learning (M/L) US patents in 2020 producing net positive customer and partner outcomes. His leadership has successfully contributed to improving enterprise data science and analytics operations, new product development, financials, regulatory compliance, the digital customer, partner and employee experience, to include being a first responder and key supporting member of the Space Shuttle Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB), the Columbia Task Force (CTF) and VMware’s COVID-19 Crisis Response Team. Harris was also key to the corporate response and action planning at VMware related to social injustice for the Black Community. Harris has held leadership roles with Facebook, Wells Fargo, and The Ohio Aerospace Institute at NASA.

Family/Other Interests – Harris is originally from the Washington DC Metropolitan area, resides in San Francisco with his French Bulldog “Bubbles”, is divorced, and has two (2) adult children, with oldest graduating from University of Tampa in the spring.
