Anita Rao

Senior Policy Advisor, U.S. Center for AI Standards and Innovation NIST

Anita Rao is a Senior Policy Advisor based in Washington, DC at the Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Anita began her career as a software engineer at Qualcomm Wireless R&D, working at intersection of AI and 5G communications. She then served as a TechCongress Fellow in the U.S. Senate working on AI, cybersecurity, telecom, and privacy issues, and has consulted for the General Services Administration (GSA) tracking the impact of emerging tech on government agencies and drafting reports and recommendations for federal leadership. She has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and an MS in Computer Science/Machine Learning from Georgia Tech.
