Principal Science Expert - AI Shell

Apurva leads an innovation-driven portfolio of AI solutions supporting both upstream and downstream businesses at Shell. Her research centers on domain-specific multimodal and human‑in‑the‑loop AI technologies, and she oversees Shell’s Data‑Centric AI academic collaboration, which focuses on advancing high‑quality data for AI development. She also currently heads the AI Ethics, Risk & Compliance program within Shell’s technology organization. With 10+ years with Shell she has performed a variety of roles from algorithm developer, compute architect, team lead to senior AI researcher. Apurva is based out of the Shell Technology Center Houston, is married with 2 high-energy, strong-willed children.
