Erika Crowell is a dedicated professional with a dynamic career spanning government and technology, focused on leveraging public-private partnerships to drive meaningful change. She began her journey at the U.S. Department of State, working in the Secretary's Office of Global Partnerships, where she spearheaded innovative initiatives like the Fishackathon, uniting tech experts and fisheries communities globally to promote sustainable practices. Additionally, she played a key role in a Michelle Obama initiative that encouraged young girls to explore STEM through transformative camps, supported by leading organizations like Microsoft. Building on this foundation, Erika transitioned to the National Security Council, where she facilitated the integration of private sector insights into national initiatives. Her journey then led her to the tech industry, joining Meta's Trust and Safety Teams. There, she focused on critical areas such as Elections, Crisis Response, and High Priority Escalations, managing election war rooms and developing policies to combat misinformation and address bullying and harassment. Erika is now at TikTok, where she serves as the Global Mental Health Outreach and Partnerships Lead in Trust and Safety In this role, she has forged groundbreaking partnerships, including collaboration with the World Health Organization to elevate evidence-based mental health content. She also leads a partnership with Headspace to support creators' well-being. Her goal is to ensure that global conversations around policy and product development prioritize safety and are grounded in evidence. Erika holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish from Villanova University and a Master's degree in Strategic Public Affairs from George Washington University. She is committed to fostering partnerships that enhance community resilience and promote mental health, believing that impactful change is best achieved through collaboration.
