Matthew (“Matt”) Bedsole serves as the Director of AI Governance at Lowe’s, where he leads enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure the responsible and ethical deployment of artificial intelligence. With over 12 years of experience at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation, Matt has been instrumental in developing scalable frameworks for AI model monitoring, addressing challenges such as data drift, model explainability, and operational integrity. Prior to his current role, Matt contributed to Lowe’s legal department, focusing on the regulatory and governance aspects of emerging technologies. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry from UNC Charlotte and a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Matt has shared his insights on AI reliability and governance at various forums, including a recent seminar at UNC Charlotte's Center for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence in Model Risk Management (TAIMing AI), where he discussed the complexities of maintaining AI reliability in production environments.
