Emily Campbell-Ratcliffe is Head of AI Assurance at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI), an expert directorate in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) that works on enabling responsible innovation in AI and data driven technologies. Emily leads the CDEI’s efforts to support the growth of an ethical, trustworthy, and effective AI assurance ecosystem in the UK, in order to drive the uptake of safe and ethical AI. She is also part of the OECD.AI network of experts, contributing to their Expert Groups on AI Risk & Accountability, and Compute & Climate. Previously, she was a lead for the Centre’s AI monitoring function, looking at emerging transformative technologies, and has published work on the responsible publication of AI research, and how to manage its risks.
