Andy Parsons

Senior Director of the Content Authenticity Initiative Adobe

Andy Parsons is the Senior Director of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) at Adobe, leading efforts to create open technologies to verify and authenticate digital content and build systems that improve the way we interact with media and each other. In this role, Andy leads a team that works to bringing transparency in digital content through the CAI, a global coalition of more than 2,500 members from across industries — including the Associated Press, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NVIDIA, Nikon, Spawning.ai and Universal Music Group — all united in their commitment to bolstering trust in the digital ecosystem with Content Credentials, a nutrition label for online content. In addition, as part of his leadership role with The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), Andy oversees the development and widespread adoption of Content Credentials, which can show important context about a piece of online media such as the creator’s name, the date it was created, what tools were used to create it and any edits that were made. He has championed collaboration among leaders across industries who feel a shared sense of urgency to combat the threat of misinformation and deepfakes online with the rise of AI technologies. Prior to his work with Adobe, Andy founded Workframe, a visual collaboration platform for architecture teams, and co-founded Twill Health, a platform that brings the science of Positive Psychology to consumers and employers. As a leader with deep experience in software engineering, product design, team building and business strategy, Andy has empowered creative professionals with innovative technologies throughout his career. A recognized thought leader in content authenticity and provenance, Andy is regularly quoted in media coverage in The New York Times, WIRED, Fast Company, Reuters, MIT Technology Review, The Verge, and many others. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and also studied Saxophone and Jazz Composition at the Manhattan School of Music before spending years as a professional jazz saxophonist and composer.
