Head of Artificial Intelligence Gowling WLG

Matt is a partner in the Intellectual Property team at Gowling WLG. He is an expert on emerging technology including artificial intelligence, digitalisation, NFTs and the "metaverse". Matt heads up Gowling's Artificial Intelligence Law team, he is General Editor of The Law of Artificial Intelligence (Sweet & Maxwell) and was made a fellow of the RSA for his work on AI and the law. He is a particular expert on AI and IP, including the subsistence and ownership of IP in inventions, text and images generated by AI, enforcement of AI-related IP, trade secret protection, TDM exceptions and the cross-border use of data and trained models.
