Miriam Fernández

Director, AI Research & Adoption Lead, Analytical Innovation S&P Global Ratings

Miriam Fernández is a Director in the Analytical Innovation team at S&P Global Ratings, based in Madrid. She co-leads the cross-divisional Artificial Intelligence insights laboratory (http://www.spglobal.ai), where she has authored multiple published articles and co-hosts the Lab's podcast. She leads the AI adoption roadmap for the Research & Development teams, supporting ca. 200 professionals across multiple asset classes including sustainable finance, private markets, national scale ratings and credit market research. Her work focuses on translating advanced AI capabilities into effective, safe and scalable applications. She is part of AI Governance Committee and the cross-functional AI network. Miriam's professional background is in the financial services sector. Prior to her current role, she was a rating analyst covering European banks, where she also published research on future-of-banking themes. Before joining S&P Global, she worked as credit risk analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She holds a Master's degree in Finance from CUNEF (Madrid) and executive education certifications in artificial intelligence from the University of Oxford and MIT. She is also a NIST certified AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF 1.0) architect.
