Uthman Ali is an internationally recognised expert on artificial intelligence (AI) ethics and governance. As the Global Responsible AI Officer at BP, Uthman made history by becoming the energy industry's first dedicated leader in this space. Uthman advises the World Economic Forum's AI Governance Alliance and serves as a national expert on AI and robot ethics at the British Standards Institute. He actively collaborates with newly formed AI safety institutes to assess frontier risks and is an advisory board member to Oxethica, an Oxford University AI ethics spin-off developing pioneering AI governance tools.
