Murat Soncul

Head of Data Protection & Privacy UK Government Data Directorate

Dr Murat Soncul is the Head of Data Protection & Privacy at the UK Government's Digital Service, part of the UK Government's new Data Directorate in The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. He is also one of the alternate vice-Chairs of the Confidentiality Advisory Group at the Health Research Authority since 2012. Prior to joining the civil service, Murat worked as an oral surgeon and completed a doctorate in healthcare technology before undertaking a number of leadership roles in the NHS in London working on digital health transformation.
