Pranav Gupte is an Associate Director, Data and AI Policy at AstraZeneca, where he advises on the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence across enterprise and research environments. His work focuses on operationalising AI governance frameworks, advising on EU AI Act requirements, and developing responsible AI and AI governance policies to support compliant and trustworthy AI adoption. Prior to AstraZeneca, he held roles at HSBC and IBM, where he advised on global data privacy programmes, high-risk technology initiatives including the use of AI/ML, and regulatory compliance across complex digital ecosystems. With a background in law and data protection, Pranav works at the intersection of regulation, governance, and emerging technologies. He focuses on translating regulatory and policy frameworks including the EU AI Act and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework into practical governance mechanisms that organisations can implement to manage AI risk while enabling innovation.
