Global Chief Creative Officer AKQA

Hugo Veiga is a blend of Portuguese and Brazilian souls, currently serving AKQA as Global Chief Creative Officer. After being recognized as the Year's best copywriter at the 2013 Cannes Lions, he co-found the AKQA São Paulo studio. Among Hugo's body of work are 4 Cannes Lions Grand Prix: "Dove Real Beauty Sketches", "Air Max Graffiti Stores", "Bluesman" and Nike “Never Done Evolving feat Serena”. Outside advertising, he was a screenwriter and actor in three Portuguese TV comedy shows; Did dubbing for TV cartoons; Created Azevedo, an animation character that made its debut on portuguese national TV; Won two editions of the Lisbon Improv Theater Competition; Created Clio On_Tour, a limited series for Renault Clio, launched in Portugal in 2005; And was the lead singer of Moda Foca, a 90’s rock band without fans or talent. In 2020, he launched "Terra da Faina", his debut musical album under the alter-ego: gohu. The first single was named "The Quarantine Anthem" by MTV Portugal. He now has two albums launched. If you meet hugo in person, don't mention gohu or he will talk about it for hours. You’ve been warned.
