Yao has over 25 years of experience in AI research, engineering, product, strategy, and innovation. Her latest role is the Chief Product Officer for Experian Data Management division. Yao is a proud MIT graduate with both Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science, concentrating in Artificial Intelligence. She also defected to Harvard for her MBA, in a moment of weakness. Yao volunteered as an instructor at a medium-security prison entrepreneurship programme, a pair-climber for an adaptive climbing group, a public relations officer for a LGBTQ+ youth homeless housing project, and an educational counsellor for MIT admissions.
