Founder & AI Red Teaming Engineer Independent
Volkan Kutal

Volkan Kutal is the founder and lead engineer of an independent practice focused on securing LLM and agentic AI systems in regulated environments. He helps enterprises deploy and operate AI safely across the full lifecycle, architecture review, threat modeling, red teaming, control validation, and secure enablement — for coding agents, RAG, MCP, and tool-using agents. His clients range from regulated enterprises to AI startups in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a contributor to Microsoft's PyRIT and to the OWASP GenAI Security Project across four of its guides, and his security research includes CVE-2026-14891, a HashiCorp Nomad sandbox escape found with an AI-augmented code-review harness. He is the author of AI Red Teaming in Practice (Packt, 2026). His work sits at the intersection of offensive AI security and the governance and compliance demands of regulated industry, from finding where systems break to building the controls that keep them safe.
